Welcome!

The Jackson Park Preschool opened in 1986 for 2 1/2, 3, 4, and 5 year olds. We are a licensed facility committed to providing quality childcare. JP Preschool maintains a 3-Star program which is the highest rating the State of Tennessee offers to childcare facilities. We have a staff of teachers who make caring for and teaching children their number one priority. Our staff is committed to early childhood education training and professional development. Our preschool environment is much like home. It provides a safe, secure, God-centered environment where the children learn not only about Jesus, but how to live healthy and happy lives. They also learn to work side by side in harmony with others.

Melanie has been married to husband, Jim, since 1982 and is the mother of three sons, Daniel, Jordan, and Mitchell. She has worked at the Jackson Park Pre-School since 1996. She started when Mitchell was four and he came with her to work. She has earned her Early Childhood Education Certificate “CDA” technical certificate in Early Childhood. She is currently working on her Associate Degree in Early Childhood at Nashville State Community College. She recently received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Management and Human Relations from Trevecca Nazarene University.

She enjoys biking, camping, and running. She enjoys working with young children because of the never-ending energy that comes from young children and trying to keep up with them is a challenge every day and she loves a challenge!

Favorite Scripture - Philippians 4:13 - I . “This verse is very empowering to me when I am down and weary and having a hard day. This verse picks me up and I know that I am not alone and Christ carries me through the day.”

  • Ginger Welch, Teacher

    Teacher

Ginger is a permanent full time teacher and began her work at Jackson Park Pre-school in 2008. She loves working with children teaching them about God and what he does for us. God gave us hands to pray with, eat with, and play with. One of my hobbies is participating in mountain man re-enactments which represents life in the 1770’s to 1840.

Favorite Scripture - Exodus 20:1-17 - “I like these scriptures because they show us all how to live our life as God wants us to.”
