Children's Ministry

Our children’s ministry is about investing in our future as a church community.  It’s not about planning random events that sometimes make our lives more chaotic and jammed full of activities.  Instead, we desire to spend the time, energy, and resources that we have as young families to help all of our children develop a growing desire to know and serve Jesus.  From all the cool, fun stuff to the simple service projects we plan, we want to foster an experience that naturally equips our children for life in the kingdom of God.

Bible School

There are Bible classes for all ages at Jackson Park.  We currently offer classes for toddlers, 3 year olds, preschool, 1st-3rd grade, 4th-6th grade and teens.  In addition, we provide a baby class for the little ones in the nursery.  Our staff includes some of our younger women, as well as some who have been teaching for 40 years.  All children’s classes dismiss promptly at 11:30 a.m.

Wee Worship

Wee worship is one of the best experiences that we provide for our children 3yrs old through the 2nd grade. Each Sunday morning the kids look forward to singing, listening to scripture, doing crafts, and enjoying a light snack. Several parents from our young families ministry volunteer and provide this program.

Vacation Bible School

One of our bigger summer ministries is our week of VBS.  Each year much planning and volunteer hours go into the creative the process to give our kids an exciting, memorable experience from the teachings of the Bible.  This ministry provides a great opportunity to see the many talents our church community possesses when it comes to working together for a greater purpose.  We love our children of JP and we look forward to VBS every summer!

Camp

Jackson Park’s annual Bible camp is a weeklong experience during the summer that seeks to create communal spirituality for students from the 3rd-12th grades. Worship assemblies, classes, crafts, games, and big group activities help the students bond and grow in their faith.  Students are also divided into teams at the beginning of the week, and they compete for the coveted “Olive Cup.” Bible camp would not be successful without the efforts of the entire Jackson Park community, and it truly is one of the highlights of the year!
